Expression of interest in applying for the ISIEP March 2020 cohort

Thank you for your interest in the ISIEP.

What is ISIEP?

The CBIE International Students and Immigration Education Program (ISIEP) is an intensive 12-week online course which prepares practitioners, currently in the field, to write the RISIA Entry to Practice Exam.  This exam along with the RISIA designation is administered and managed by Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).  To maintain your RISIA designation, you must be employed at a designated learning institution (DLI) and complete continuing professional development hours (CPD) on a yearly basis.  Before applying for this course please ensure that you have read and understood the following info:
  • ISIEP Handbook and Course Calendar, available at:  https://cbie.ca/isiep/
  • ICCRC’s website along with the RISIA Registration Guide, available at this website: https://iccrc-crcic.ca/become-a-risia/

ISIEP Fees:

CBIE member: $2,800.00
Non-members: $2,950.00

ISIEP Eligibility Criteria:

CBIE aligns their eligibility criteria for the ISIEP course, as listed below, with those of the RISIA certification, which are established by ICCRC:
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Employed at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.  Note that all primary and secondary schools in Canada are DLI.
  • Professional working in the education sector, whose responsibilities include international student advising.  If your job title is not International Student Advisor (ISA).
  • Enroll in ISIEP for the purpose of skills upgrade in the current institutional role. Unfortunately, it is not a pathway program to a career in international student advising, but rather a professional development program for those who are already working in this field at a DLI.

NOTE:  If you are seeking to access the profession, if you are an agent and/or if you are currently not employed at a DLI, you have the option of becoming a Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).  For more info on this designation review ICCRC’s RCIC Registration Guide available at this website: https://iccrc-crcic.ca/become-a-rcic/

The ISIEP Team will use the information collected in this short survey to contact you once the March 2020 cohort application becomes available.
